Jesus Culture in Singapore

Jesus culture in Singapore! Yes I know... Finally. I'm not too sure if they come before or what. But for myself, it's the first time I'm actually seeing them "live". Where else to see them "live" but at the auditorium that belongs to my church? :)

So the band came along with Pastor Banning. I like that guy. I mean, it was such a simple messaged preached to all of us; How God stirs our heart, for us to find Him eventually. He doesn't just stir our heart for the sake of it. God will ALWAYS be found by us, if we seek Him. Love it. I like how Pastor Banning just use simple illustrations and all that. Definitely one anointed preacher. I followed him on twitter and instagram right after the concert. Haha. Followed all the JC band and all that.

So the concert started off with Pastor Banning just sharing and exalting Jesus. Started with a prayer and then off we go! The concert kick off! Amazing sound and lights! Wow. So here I am at a Jesus Culture concert! Way to go!

Epic Kim Walker leading the congregation into a lovely time of worship!

As always, Kim walker and Chris Quilala were superb in their vocals. The band was so tight that I think they probably played music with one another all their life. Seriously. The drummer guy was insanely good. So is the keyboardist and the rest of the band. Awesome band, if u ask me!

Though I only know three of their many songs sang that night, I felt the presence of God. I felt it there and then. Burning. Warm feeling. Like how I always encounter Jesus at church. Same thing.

But along the way, it dawned upon me the difference between their songs and the songs that we sing at church. It's not so much of the technicalities or the loudness of the sound, though I would say that it made a huge difference, but it's just the words used and way the song is being sang.

Here's just my two cents worth; I thought their songs were good. Like good songs to sing for item and all that. But, some of their lyrics were quite "strange". Not in the bad way though. It's just the way they portray Jesus in the song. Not that it's not correct or what, but for me, I felt Jesus, yes. But I felt Jesus as the all powerful one. Whereas in church... the songs we sang always portray Jesus lovingly and gracefully. Not that Jesus is NOT powerful or NOT loving or what, but... yeah. It's just how i feel towards their songs. All the burning and the holy spirit and all that. Haha. Oh well.

Nonetheless, I worshipped that night, despite the very little knowledge of their songs. It was a good experience overall. And I'm glad I went that night to encounter Jesus with Jesus Culture. Thank you Jesus Culture, for a good night. :)

Some random shots with some of the church folks that I went with!

Lunch today was an office affair. It was some quarterly lunch thingy where the company would just decide to bless all their staff with food. Indian Food, to be exact. Hah. I'm a fan of indian food, so I'm not complaining!

A good friday well spent today. I am blessed!
