Hairpage Underground Salon Review - Men's Haircut + Dark Brown Hair Dye

I was promptly introduced to this relatively new hair salon recently by a friend of mine, and I had my monthly haircut, and to try dying my hair again after the last one a couple of months back. I'm happy I'm able to share my experience with you guys and I hope it would give you more insight of whats to come from this new hair salon!


Hairpage Underground Salon

Hairpage Underground is a modern and trendy hair salon located at very conveniently at South Beach Avenue, which is just a stone throw away from Esplanade Mrt Station. The idea sprang forth from a team of highly professional, talented, and passionate individuals with the desire to start a hair salon offering customers versatility, individuality, and a friendly service.

Upon Arrival

My first impression upon arriving at Hairpage Underground was a pleasant one. Located right at the basement of the relatively new South Beach Tower, this salon look really modern exteriorly. I was directed inside to the salon to my seat, and I noticed some very important amenities that I thought would be very useful and ideal for people (especially ladies with long hair) who are gonna be doing their hair here for hours and hours to come.

• Choice of hot/cold refreshments. I chose their chamomile tea and it was served in a cute kettle, with sugar packets by the side as some of us don't like our tea too sweet. I thought this was pretty good as the most other salons just give u the tea straight in the cup. Wished I snapped a pic of it!
• Magazines. The very basic form of entertainment while you wait for your hair service to be done.
• Charging Point for me to charge and use my phone as some of the hair services process might take awhile.
• Tissue box within hand's reach. This was a very nice gesture as some salons I know can get pretty cold and your nose can get runny and stuff.

• Free WIFI for all customers to leverage upon, which in this era, is no longer a privilege. Its a need for most of us, me included. Haha.

Men's Haircut + Darker Brown Hair Dye

I had a discussion with Xiao Hui (The Owner of the Salon), and she introduced me to my stylist, Rachel. Rachel specialises in Men's haircut, as well as for shorter hair length. She recommended giving my hair a fresh look, but due to the length of the hair being too short for now, she opted to trim off those uneven edges, as well as to keep the shape of the hairdo. She advised me to keep my hair longer before she can finalise the new hair shape and style. I'm pretty excited to see how I'll look like in 3-4 months time, and I'll definitely show you guys again via my social media platforms then.

The haircut and my hair dye process didn't take too long. It lasted about under 2 hours which includes hair wash and styling.

I really like the fact that after the hair wash, I was given a really warm and comfortable towel to put around my neck. It was a really positive and comfy moment as it really helped me to relax and all. Definitely a plus point here.

End Result

As my previous hair color was slowly fading into a more obvious brown, I was very satisfied with this new hair color as I honestly think that I suit a darker color hair. My haircut was neat, and I like that it is now in shape, without much uneven sides and all. Rachel really did a good job for me. Two thumbs up!

Conclusion

Hairpage Underground really far exceeded what I thought it'll give me. I thought that my stylist, Rachel, was really experienced, and she was always sure of what she was doing with my hair.  I am surely looking forward to my next appointment with them already!

The place also gives me a very relaxing vibes, which some salons don't really offer these days. The music in the background wasn't too loud, and it was a pleasant sound rather than distraction. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience with Hairpage Underground, and I would recommend anyone, especially those working around Suntec/City Hall area to give this new salon a shot.
