KENJO Salon Review - Men's Senior Stylist Haircut + Brown Hair Dye

Everyone has their favourite or go-to hair salons that they would frequent regularly, be it for hair cut or any other unique services like treatments, hair perm, etc. I'm glad to share that I've finally found one for me - KENJO Salon.

About a couple of days back, I had my hair cut, dyed and styled at KENJO Salon and I am glad to be able to share my experience at the salon with a promo code for my readers at the end of the blog post! This promo code would be applicable for ALL hair services at KENJO Salon.

KENJO Hair Salon

KENJO Salon is a korean-themed hair salon located very conveniently at Plaza Singapura's New Wing, Level 4. They have hair stylists from Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore. The stylists are all professional and well-trained in all aspect of hair and hair care. 

Upon Arrival

Upon arrival at the good salon, I was directed to the next available seat and I was greeted with some amenities and services that I thought was very useful and necessary.

• Bag hooks were provided for customers to hang their bag safely, just beneath the mirror. 
• Choice of hot/cold refreshments such as Coffee, Tea, etc, accompanied by two Lotus Biscoff biscuits.
• Magazines to keep me entertained.
• Charging Point for me to charge and use my phone as some of the hair services process might take awhile.
• Free WIFI for all customers to leverage upon, which was very needful given that we usually spend our time looking at our phones while waiting

Men's Senior Stylist Haircut + Hair Dye

Prior to the haircut and hair dying session, I had a discussion with my stylist, Zenn, on what are the better hairstyles I can have for the shape of my head, as well as the the kind of hair color suitable for me given the nature of my jobscope (corporate office job). She recommended to keep the current style,but with a simple haircut to trim off the uneven edge, as well as to tidy up the sides. Moreover, she recommended a safe brown colour as its my virgin attempt in dying hair! Talk about experience...

During the process of getting my hair dyed, I was provided with ear muffs to cover my ears while the hair was being dyed. I thought this was very needful as sometimes, when the hair dye or hair gets stucked in your ears that make you feel extremely uncomfortable thereafter. 

Zenn went on to explain that the hair dye she was going to use for my hair would be a higher level hair dye. Thus, the steps for my hair dye is to process the outer layers first, without touching the scalp, lest it irritates it. She will allow the outer layers to be processed first, and then the roots of the hair will then be dyed next.

Moreover, there will not be any need for heating for me as the hair dye is of higher level, and also cos my hair length simply doesn't require the need of it. Unlike most girls with longer hairs and all, i would be using my natural body temperature to naturally heat up the hair dye.

The whole process of leaving it on after Zenn applied it would be about 7-10 minutes, before I was ushered to have my hair washed and rinsed thoroughly. 

Styling Product

I was recommended by Zenn to try out this styling product, MANKIND Hair Pomade. This styling product is recommended by her because of its super hold, it is water soluble which allows for easy washing, as well as it does not smell too bad. 

I can't wait to try it, and will film a simple video showing you how I use it for styling. Do keep a lookout for that!

End Result

I was pleasantly surprised by the colour of the hair initially, as I wasn't expecting it to be this loud. But it was a nice change, nonetheless.

Zenn told me to come and try there signature MUCOTA Scalp treatment next time, which I will definitely be trying in due time soon!

Conclusion

I thought that Zenn was a very experienced stylist, who knows what she was doing at all times. Calm and composed, she was also very skilled in hair cutting. Also true to her words, the colour of my hair did indeed look better after awhile. I am definitely looking forward to my next appointment with them soon!

As discussed with Zenn, I might even perm my hair to volumize it like how it is very "in" in Korea right now! Cannot wait to show you guys the final end product!
