REVIEW: Oriental Residence Bangkok

Having been to Bangkok numerous times, I've always felt that a good hotel could potentially alter the entire Bangkok experience, since we all know that in BKK, there'll be a lot of walking and shopping. Coming back to a nice and clean hotel/accommodation would be ideal, for most of us definitely.

For my last trip to Bangkok, I had the privilege to finally stayed at the Oriental Residence! I've heard a lot about this place from Audrey, and I've always wanted to try a night or two there. So glad I'm able to finally experience a night on my own. Moreover, Oriental Residence was recently awarded the Travellers' Choice 2018 Winner by Tripadvisor. That made me even more excited to experience a night there.

My Experience

I was greeted immediately by the hotel staff the minute my taxi stopped at the lobby of Oriental Residence, which followed by me being escorted to the reception for a fuss-free check-in.

I can't help but be in awed of the luxurious and spacious feels of the place. I also really like the tall ceilings that would definitely make one feel luxurious, even more so when you're a photographer taking pics as there are endless possibilities of angles and stuff.

Room

The Oriental Residence has 4 types of rooms - Executive Deluxe, and 3 other types of suites (one, two,  or three bedroom).

As it was only for a night stay, I took the 1 bedroom Executive Deluxe. As you can see from the next picture, the room was designed in a such a way that it feels like a home, rather than a hotel. It was very spacious for 1 (or even 2) pax, and I couldn't be any happier with it.

The Kitchen area also has everything that you'll need to prep for a meal, which is definitely another plus point for travellers. A stove, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, etc. There is also a mini-bar which would aid in the process as well.

 Cafe Claire (Breakfast Area)

I had my breakfast the next morning at the really pretty Cafe Claire, which also happen to be the residence's breakfast area for guests. It was a very well designed and furnished cafe, which I am personally impressed with, with the wide selection of food and tables and chairs.

I remember wanting to have my coffee taken away to my room. It was initially greeted with a slight hesitation from the staff, but I was particularly impressed when the staff go out of their way to make the take-away possible. As I also understand that they don't usually allow take-aways in the morning for guest enjoying their breakfast set, I am thankful for that extra mile of effort for me.

Conclusion

Pros:
Excellent stay located right in the heart of Bangkok, close to the city center with easy access to the BTS stations. Its ideal location also offers peace and quietness in the midst of a city that never sleeps.

Huge, well-equipped rooms with proper kitchen and working areas, that also comes with extremely fast and free WiFi.

I am very impressed with the service of the staff too. I will definitely be back again in the near future.

Furthermore, I have to add that there's a little street that sells street food located right opposite the residence too. This is definitely yet another plus point. Not to mentioned, really good massage places all around too.

Cons:
Nothing that I can think off, at the moment. I mean, seriously?
