One day JB Trip

So the guys decided to just take a short getaway from Singapore, but yet don't wanna spend so much money, and we happen to hear of some good food in our neighboring country. So... Jb we go. Haha.

I've been hearing about how good the charsiew in JB was, and how Singapore's version can NEVER compare with theirs. Boy was I convinced man. Instead of the usual thin pieces that we normally get in Singapore, when our mixed roast portion came, all our eyes were glued on the charsiew. Haha. To make things more interesting, it was honey flavoured charsiew. :-)

To be honest, the roasted duck and the roasted meat wasn't that fantastic. Like how YJ said, we can probably find better ones in Singapore. But the charsiew is just... unbelievable man. I mean, we get even the fatty part of it! How rare is that! Haha.

Obviously one portion wasn't enough for 4 hungry man, so we ordered another portion thereafter.

We spent about... 8.50 SGD per person on lunch? I think it's pretty okay, given that the meat were fantastic, plus we had second round of goodness. Not too bad!

After lunch, since the charsiew place was pretty near Sutera mall, we decided to take a walk to just let our stomach digest those awesomness. Haha.

Feeling bored already, I happen to know some pretty cool cafes in JB. So I decided to bring the guys to check them out. The only downside is that I've no idea what the address were, or rather, I have an idea, but somehow the GPS just doesn't work on it. Haha. So after driving for close to 40 mins, we ended up at... this place. :O

I've no idea how they can still be so happy about it. Haha. The GPS brought us to some really ulu village! Okay more like Kampong area. Throughout the journey, I've been incepting their mind at how atas those cafes were. When we were all here, it was a sight to behold man. Lol.

There I am trying VERY HARD to work on the GPS thingy.

So I contacted a friend and somehow, the cafe that we want to go wasn't the one we ended up in. Haha. We went to the other one and I think... it's probably better than the one I wanted to bring them to. Praise the Lord. :3

The cafe is a little cheaper than the usual cafes we visit in SG. I would say about... a close 20% cheaper? Yup.

After the much fellowshipping and chatting and nonsense-ing, it was around dinner time already. So off to dinner we go, led by Nic the food expert in JB. Haha. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

And we managed to complete it! Hallelujah. I've never come across such a huge portion of crayfish and the super big jug of sugarcane juice.

The total bill was about 197.50 Ringgit. So it's about 22 SGD per person. I think it's pretty okay, since we over ordered on the crayfishes. It should be about 18 SGD per person.

So yup! A good one day getaway from Singapore. Maybe next time we'll rent a 9-seater car? ;-)
